New 2015 UFO Sighting

UFO Sighting in Newberg, Oregon on 2018-07-28 01:25:00 - Flashes of light with beam-light flashes

While gazing at the stars searching for satellites on 7/28, i witnessed some flashing lights in the sw sky. i've seen these before--much like a camera flash. they appear in an instant and are not continuous (seem random). always one flash at a time--about the brightness of the brightest star in the sky. i've never seen more than 2-3 sequential flashes, and then they stop. the one i saw on 7/28 was different. i saw it flash twice (about a second apart), and then a third time, but instead the flash was a beam of light (almost like a spark being shot out). the beam was about a thumb-width with an outstretched arm. the forth flash was exactly the same (w/beam of light). called my family out to see this, but we all only saw 2 more flashes--like a camera flash, but no beams of light. the flashes did not appear to be linear, though they did move in position toward the south (toward the full moon), before stopping. when seeing the flashes before, i passed them off as iridium satellite flares, but i had never actually seen a recording of one, and i had never found an iridium satellite in my star guide app that was passing by the same time i had seen these flashes. i've since done some research and seen a few videos of iridium satellites. these flashes that i've seen do not appear in anyway similar to what i've seen online for iridium satellites (no glowing/brightening--no linear path). i've seen a few videos of flashing lights similar to the ones i've seen before--but no one could conclusively identify what they were (or are). and none include the shooting beam flash that i witnessed last night. i've seen plenty of planes and satellites pass by at night, and these flashes are entirely different.
